1997 - 1998 First approaches and concepts to introduce Fiber Optic Sensor technology for railroad applications (Fiber optic force cells for Pantographs, sensor-slot installations in ripple plates)
Oct. 1999 First installations of Fiber optic rail pad sensors installed between sleeper and rail
2000 - 2001 Development cooperation with SIEMENS focussed on Fiber Optic Axle Counters
2002 - 2004 Serial development with our manufacturing partner GETZNER, Austria
Dec. 2004 Completion of development. 10 millions of 10 axle ton load cycles were verified in lab tests
May 2005 Installation and field durability test of 20 FORPS in Austria (Westbahn, 2.66 million axle crossings per year)
March 2007 Limited installation approval in Germany
Since 2007 Cooperation with TÜV SÜD concerning development of SIL 4 level
August 2008 General installation approval in Germany
2005 - 2009 Several test installations in Europe and abroad
